All is good here ... how about for you?

Ahhhh ... to be 9 again!

Velvet art

Just in case you want to know, he pegged this one as a picture of Randy when he was 20 - yeah, seriously ... sunburned and surfing on a beach in Hawaii. Awesome dude!!

Aiden got a package of blendy pens for his birthday and he and Keegan set out to color all of the velvet art that was included in the pacakge. Here are Aiden's works of art.

A tale of a mermaid and 2 brothers

For the ongoing series of the coloring pages, I give you a mermaid. Aiden did this version of her and left her as it becase we don't have a flesh colored blendy pen. Sad times, eh??

Then, with Aiden's permission (that Aiden would give Keegan permission to modify his picture was shocking in itself), Keegan made the mermaid look like this and titled the picture "Harry Potter and the half blood princess."

Sounds like a billlion dollar enterprise in the making, eh?

How to be a good citizen

In Scouts tonight, Aiden was tasked with making a poster that shows something he has learned about being a good citizen. There is a lot of power in the words of a child. It's tough to read some of those orange words, so I will detail it out for you on here:
"Don't treat people unfairly, even if they're (sic) skin looks different or they like something or even if they're (sic) speech bubbles are different colors."
Well said, son.

Indian Springs celebration

To celebrate the last day of school, we met up with a bunch of friends from school at Indian Sprints Metropark. This is Aiden's rendition of the Splash Zone -- one of the best parts about that Metropark!

Made you a map, Mom

That's how he greeted me when I walked up to his class at the carpool line to pick him up. He handed it to me and I smiled. I said "That's really neat, A. Where will this map get me?". He said "I am not sure Mom. I'm still working on that. Right now it is just a map."

Diversity in art

I see a bit of a theme coming out of art class this year. I'm honestly not sure if it is intentional, all I really know for sure is that Aiden really enjoys art class. I tend to obsess over whether math, reading, science, spelling and writing are going as they should be, and I tend to be pretty a-ok with how art class rolls. I just enjoy what I get home, and Aiden enjoys making it.

This one is not for the faint of heart

Shield your eyes -- this one is bright! But brilliant, of course! It's a video game created during indoor recess today. It is ..... complex, I'd call it. I don't understand it, but I love it!

Your love is like good medicine (sorry Bon Jovi!)

My sweet little man has been having some trouble at school -- tummy aches. By the time I got to scanning this picture, the problem is resolved, but this is still worth a post. Love this! He said "It just really means that I love you Mom". Works for me!
